My sculptural work focuses on the human condition and pays great attention to balance and motion. Taking the “serious edge” off of a classical medium and the connection between the artist and viewer has been an integral part of her work. By juxtaposing the formal medium of casting metal, with a lighthearted expression, I draw the viewer into the work to create a personal dialogue with the sculpture. My sculptures are in private and corporate collections.
For me, travelling as a key form of inspiration. Travelling is a unique way of experiencing other cultures, refreshing one’s eyes, and creating new work. Life abroad has a magical way of appearing more intense and dramatic. I am fascinated by the expressions, the people, the surfaces and textures that catch light and movement.
I have been a member of the Sculptors Society of Canada since 2011.
